Description:
White crystalline pellet or powder. Also known as 2, 4-Hexadienoic Acid, it is the potassium salt of Sorbic Acid.

Applications:
Preservative. Very effective against moulds, yeasts, and bacteria. Wide range of applications, including: baked goods,
margarine, salad dressings, fresh noodles, dairy products, pickled products, sauces, smoked fish, dried fruit and wine. Also used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and pet food.

Properties:
Sorbates are effective in a wide pH range and stable under normal heating processes. Structure will decompose at
temperatures above 270°C. Soluble in either hot or cold water and in water-alcohol mixtures. Only slightly soluble in
glycerol and oils.
